Notes

A basic TCi query involves obtaining traffic speed or travel-time output, from all available navigation devices, for a user-defined location, date and time where:

  • location means interconnected roads up to a maximum of 75 km
  • All roads may be selected or roads may be selected by road class
  • date means any dates since about 2008
  • time means 1 or more days for at least 1 hour … up to a maximum of 24 selected periods (which can be as small as 15 minutes)

Further analysis means TCi will take the ‘raw’ output file and provide you with whatever you request,  such as:

  • a particular type of presentation of the data (eg on a map / for a report)
  • statistical distribution(s) of the data, to see where traffic on a particular date ‘fitted’ (was it typical, was it an outlier … where does it fit on the normal distribution)
  • traffic volume(s) and/or congestion cost
  • …
